Faced with the constraints of an increasing number of product returns in E-commerce, GEODIS has created an integrated set of reverse logistics services that combine the power of digital technology with its global transportation network. In September 2021, GEODIS made a decision to choose ShopRunBack’s innovative digital solution for online returns to take the operational management of product returns off the hands of merchants and e-retailers.
ShopRunBack returns management platform is designed to centralise and optimise all aspects of the customer return journey. It can be easily integrated and accessed from all merchant sites and includes:
1. data analysis and reporting on returns reasons;
2. real-time order returns tracking;
3. automated refund notifications;
4. verification and warehouse sorting and stock updates;
5. transportation support for re-sale, recycling or disposal.RESULTS
Using ShopRunBack's user-friendly interface, the end customer can have fast access to the return portal, check the return policy, select the reason for the return or ask for an exchange or a gift voucher and choose preferred pick-up options.
Then the customer has an option for their returns to be picked up from home or dropped off at a designated location.
Products are collected and delivered to the warehouse by GEODIS, where they undergo quality inspection, sorting, repackaging for shipment, and, if applicable, recycling.

ABOUT THE CLIENT
Émile Calberson started a business to ship goods by train in 1904.
He changed the name of the company to “Société des Transports Routiers Calberson” in 1920. In 1961, SCETA, a company owned by SNCF, took over the business. In 1996, private investors bought the company and split it into four parts: Groupage, Road, Logistics, and Overseas.
In 2006, the Group got stronger in Scandinavia, North America, Asia, and Australia by buying TNT Freight Management. The Group bought the IBM worldwide logistics activity monitoring platform in 2008. This led to Supply Chain Optimization, GEODIS's fifth line of business.
In 2009, GEODIS bought two of Giraud International's four divisions: the steel division and the Central and Eastern European zone.
In 2015, the Group made GEODIS the name for all of its brands. .
